From 29 April 2024, Deriv MT5 will introduce an administration fee for positions held overnight on swap-free accounts. Here’s what you need to know and how to manage it.
How the Fee Is Calculated
The administration fee depends on your trade volume and the type of instrument.
Formula:
Admin fee = Fee in USD × Volume in lots
Example:
If you hold 2 lots of BTC/USD overnight on a Swap-Free account, your fee for the first night after the grace period ends would be:
USD 38 × 2 lots = USD 76

Key Points of Deriv MT5 Swap-Free Account Fees
- Grace period: No fees for the first five days for derived instruments and the first fifteen days for financial instruments.
- Daily charge: Fees apply daily after the grace period until the position is closed.
- Partial closures: Closing one of multiple positions will not reset fees for the others; fees are adjusted proportionally.
- No closing fee: Positions can be closed without any additional charges.
- Transparent billing: Fees are applied directly to your account for clarity.
